What is an Audiologist?
An audiologist is a healthcare professional who evaluates and treats hearing loss, balance and related disorders; conducts and administers hearing screening programs; recommends and provides appropriate technology, which includes hearing instruments and assistive listening devices; and provides audiologic rehabilitation and hearing conservation programs.
Qualified Audiologists Have:
- A Master’s or Doctoral Degree
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- State licensure, which is required in Texas

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jeremy moved to Abilene to join Hendrick Hearing HealthCare in 2006. Prior to that, he worked in private practice audiology in the Pittsburgh area where he received tremendous hearing aid training. His interests in audiology include hearing aid fitting, hearing aid modification/repair, auditory processing (CAP) and vestibular (balance) assessments. He is nationally certified through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Jeremy is married with a young child and enjoys living in Abilene. Since his move to Abilene (after having lived in the Northeast all his life), Jeremy has especially developed an affinity for West Texas barbecue.

Tricia is from Mississippi where she graduated with a B. of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1974 and a Master of Music Education from University of North Texas in 1980 (majoring in flute). Because of her own hearing impairment and knowledge of American Sign Language, she decided to change careers and began studying audiology. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in Education and then went on to the University of North Texas again for her Master of Science in Audiology, obtained in 1987. She began working at Hendrick Hearing HealthCare in 1987 and has worked there ever since. She earned a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2004. Tricia has a special interest in working with the geriatric population and their hearing aids. She has been a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) for 20 years as well as the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Her hobbies include astronomy, Jewish-Christian studies and Hearts and Hooves Abilene, a non-profit organization animal assisted therapy program that takes miniature horses to nursing homes.
